We welcomed some new members on to the Select Vestry and their role is going to be exceptionally important in preparing for the arrival of the new Rector and the continued benefit of the Parish. Rev Canon Graham thanked all the members of the committee for their support and their dedication to the parish during his time in Mullingar.

The next meeting of the Select Vestry will be held in All Saints’ Church on Thursday 25 April at 7.30pm.

All Saints’ School

On Sunday 3rd March Bishop Storey Gave a wonderful inspirational sermon at the 60th  Anniversary Service celebrating the location of the school as it stands in the grounds at All Saints’.  She even brough along her Dock Martins that she got for her 60th on the day to help make her point. It was wonderful to see so many past pupils and teachers in attendance and seeing that the school today is still thriving  .

The staff and the Children of the school used this momentous occasion to pay tribute to cannon Graham and his lovely wife Mrs Graham and special presentations were made on the day from each classroom including a rewritten rendition of “My Favourite Things which was an ode to Canon Graham and his impact on the life and the children in the school over the last 15 years.

More can be seen on the school website www.allsaintsnsmullingar.ie

Holy Baptism

In the month of March 4 children were baptised in the parish. We pray for the children as they begin their journey of faith in the church and for their parents and Godparents.

Bereavements

Alfie Bailey

We offer our deepest sympathy to Sheila Bailey and her son Jason and the three grandchildren following the sudden and untimely death of Sheila’s husband Alfie. We also offer our sympathy to Alfie’s sisters and all the members of the wider family, the parishioners of Killucan Parish and Alfie’s neighbours and friends. Alfie was born in Killucan and spent nearly his whole life living in his beloved Killucan.

Alfie was loved by everyone and will be very sadly missed. His funeral took place in Saint Etchen’s Church Killucan.

Alfie had a firm faith and knew the promises of God were true. We pray that he will rest in peace and rise in glory and that Sheila and Jason and the family will be comforted by their loving and wonderful memories of Alfie and by the grace and constant love of God.

Lynne Algar

It is with deep regret that we announce the death of the lovely Lynne, who passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family, following an illness bravely borne with great courage and dignity. Cherished mother of Aille and Nuada, Lynne will be forever loved and always remembered by her adored children, their father Aaron, her heartbroken parents Dave and Angela, her dear brothers and sisters Kenneth, John, Jen and Niamh. sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Her funeral in All saints’ was a testamant to her very short but full life and we hope that the large gathering gave some support and comfort to her family t this incredibly sad time.

May her gentle soul rest in peace
