this special occasion in Wilson’s Hospital School led by the young leaders of the our
Parish initiative Lighten Our Darkness by Numbers. Young will be travelling from
all over Ireland to attend this occasion and it is a wonderful tribute to the young
people’s leadership that the Bishops and young people in the Church of Ireland have
accepted their invitation to come to Westmeath for this Climate Youth Sunday. Last
month it was also so encouraging to see the number of people who attended our Parish
Climate Service at Leney church.

Bereavement
We offer our deepest sympathy to Bill McConnell, our musical director in All Saints’
following the death of his brother Derek who passed away in Spain where he had
resided for many years. Derek had not been well but his death came as a sad surprise
to Bill and the family. We pray that Derek, now in the fuller presence of God, may
rest in peace and rise in glory. Derek and Bill had sung as choristers in St. Patrick’s
Cathedral Dublin and they both came from a very musical family. We continue to
benefit from Bill’s singing in All Saints’.
We also offer deepest sympathy to Richard and Amanda following the sad death of Richard’s sister Gillian whose funeral took place in Trinidad. We pray that Richard and his family will be comforted by their lovely memories of Gillian and that Gillian now in the fuller presence of God may rest in peace.
Canon Lawrence
Canon Lawrence will be on duty in the Parish for any emergency/pastoral care from Sunday 1st October until Thursday 12th October. The contact numbers for Canon Lawrence contact number are 044-9222109 or 086-0562944.
